We have grown remarkably in membership

In 1968 some telecommunication technicians of the automatic telephone exchange in Buea, felt the need to put away part of their income for rainy days by creating a “Njangi” group.

This idea was nurtured and hatched in November 1971 when this small Njangi group was given the authorization to effectively launch its operational activities as a Credit Union and was christened the Buea P& T Cooperative Credit Union (BPTCCUL) and got registered into CamCCUL (Cameroon cooperative credit union league Ltd).

Buea P&T Credit Union is accredited by MINFI and COBAC (Banking Commission for central African States).

BPTCCUL was the first Credit Union in Fako Division to be given a CENADI Code by the government (Authorization to pay Civil Servants Salaries) in 2018.

Since its creation, Buea P&T Credit Union has grown remarkably in membership and structures, with branches in Buea, Idenau, Yaounde, Muyuka, with Limbe and Douala in Progress.
